Acacia Hills Tanzania
Acacia Hills Estate is located in the fertile valley of the Ngorogoro volcano, in Tanzania and at 1,900 meters above sea level, it is the farm at the highest altitude within the region.
In 2007 Leon and Aideen Christianakis, local coffee producers from Tanzania, bought the farm and focused on improving growing and processing methods to produce excellent specialty coffee.
The cherries are picked by hand and then taken to the washing station, where they are again selected and separated. After this, the coffee ferments for 12-18 hours, depending on the ambient temperature, before being washed and dried in African beds for between 10 and 14 days.
The result is a balanced and sweet coffee with delicate fruity notes.
