Kangurumai AA Kenya
Kangurumai is the name of the mill operated by the Kangurumai Cooperative Society located in the Muranga region of central Kenya.
It is within the Aberdare mountain range, surrounded by forest and rich volcanic terrain at an altitude of 1,600 meters.
These characteristics make this area ideal for coffee cultivation.
In Kenia most coffee farmers have small plantations and are organized through Cooperatives, which helps with the traceability of their coffee and obtains a higher rate.
Farmers bring their coffee cherries to the cooperative’s mill right after collecting them and they undergo a washed process with a short fermentation of 12 hours before being left to dry on raised beds.
This creates a clean but complex tasting profile.
