Created for and by true fans of specialty coffee, it is a powerful, high-performance coffee grinder.
The Comandante C40 MK4 Snow White features an advanced design of conical burr set.
The material of the burrs is the result of extensive product research and development.
Stainless steel body and unbreakable polymer glass base.
But the attention to detail does not only lie in the beautiful exterior design.
Inside, it features a stainless steel shaft, crank, and bearings.
The bearings are micro-ball and made of martensitic stainless steel.
They are highly nitrogen-rich and resistant to wear.
These conical burrs are strong and very sharp.
Grind Settings
The Comandante C40 MK4 Snow White manual grinder can handle any grind, from Turkish coffee to French press.
The perfect grind varies not only according to the brewing method but also to the type of coffee. Here are some general recommendations from the manufacturer.
First, adjust your grinder to point 0, which corresponds to the completely closed position.
To verify this, hold the grinder horizontally. If the burrs are open, you will notice that the handle moves and falls to the 6 o'clock position. As you gradually close the burrs, you will adjust the grinding levels. Point zero is the tightest configuration, where the handle stops falling (for example, starting from 9 o'clock). In this position, the burrs firmly hold the handle (if you tighten more, you could reach settings -1, -2, etc., but it is not necessary to apply too much force). The numbering of clicks to adjust the grind always starts from point zero.
These are the recommended settings:
– 5–10 Clicks for Ibrik.
– 10–15 Clicks for Espresso.
– 15–20 Clicks for Moka or Italian.
– 22–32 Clicks for filtered coffee, V60, Chemex, Kalita, Moccamaster, etc.
– 25–30 Clicks for cupping and French press.
– 30–35 Clicks for pot coffee.
– Aeropress? That will depend on your recipe ;)!
