Gifts for coffee lovers

1. Specialty coffee tasting pack:

One of the best gifts you can give a coffee lover is, quite simply, a good pack of specialty coffee .

Yeah, it seems obvious, but all coffee lovers love it when someone brings us a new coffee, something we haven't tried yet and have been wanting to try for a while. But not all coffees are the same.

If you're going to give coffee to someone who truly appreciates coffee, you can't just give them a store-bought coffee, the kind you'll find on any supermarket shelf. It's like giving a wine lover a carton of wine. It should be specialty coffee (you can read all about what that means in this post ).

At Ineffable Coffee, all our coffees are specialty, fresh, seasonal, and freshly roasted. It's what any coffee lover is looking for, so if you choose one of our coffees as a gift, you'll be sure to make a great choice.

Some things to consider when choosing a coffee are the roast profile and whether to buy whole beans or ground coffee. Regarding the former, it depends on the brewing method used by the person you're gifting it to. We recommend an 'espresso' profile if you're preparing it using an Italian coffee maker, espresso maker, or super-automatic coffee maker. And we recommend a 'filter' profile for brewing using filter methods like a French press, V60, or AeroPress.

As for whether to buy it ground or whole grain, we always recommend ground whole grain ( we explain why in this post ). If you know they have a mill at home, then whole grain is best. And if you don't know, you can add a mill to your gift or give them ground whole grain.

To help you hit the right note, we've prepared this tasting pack that you can customize to your liking, choosing from our current menu of seasonal coffees.

2. Comandante C40 MK4 Manual Coffee Grinder

Anyone who loves coffee knows that the best coffee is freshly ground coffee. It best preserves its organoleptic qualities. Therefore, one of the best gifts you can give someone like this is a good grinder.

And this Comandante manual grinder isn't just good, it's the best. Because not all grinders are created equal. This one is made from the finest materials and designed to last and maintain a consistent grind every time. This—an adjustable, consistent grind—is the holy grail of grinders and what their quality is measured by. This grinder won't disappoint.

Plus, thanks to its compact size, we can take it anywhere, and its design won't go unnoticed.

3. HARIO Mini Mill manual coffee grinder

We've said that the best coffee is freshly ground coffee. If someone new to coffee wants to take their coffee brewing to the next level, one of the first things they should do is get a grinder. We don't recommend conventional electric grinders for home use ( you can learn more about why in this article ); we prefer manual grinders.

And this Hario Mini Mill grinder is ideal for those occasions. Its price, considerably lower than the previous one, offers very interesting features with its conical ceramic burrs. The grind may not be as uniform and it may not last as long as the previous one, but it's adjustable and more than fulfills its purpose, and will be a great step up in quality for beginners.

4. Fellow Opus

Okay, we said we don't usually recommend regular electric grinders for home use, but this isn't your average electric grinder.

This is a grinder designed for coffee lovers. It features conical burrs, adjustable grind settings, and different power levels. In fact, you can save your preferred settings to make grinding even easier from one coffee to the next.

But all of this in a Fellow Opus electric coffee grinder comes at a price. It's not so much its price, but its size and the fact that it needs to be plugged in. It's an ideal grinder for those who mostly make coffee at home and want the convenience, ease, and speed of grinding coffee. When we're short on time, it's a welcome addition.

5. Bialetti Moka Exclusive Italian Coffee Maker

The traditional coffee maker, done right. Not only done right, but Bialetti is the name of the inventor of this engineering marvel and the original brand of these coffee makers.

These coffee makers are an easy and consistent way to enjoy good coffee. Ideal for those who love coffee but don't want to delve into the world of filters (yet). However, we recommend using freshly ground specialty coffee with the proper grind and following the proper brewing guidelines , which we explain here.

It's made with the finest materials, designed to provide countless sensations for our palates and nervous system. A traditional gift that will always be welcomed.

6. AeroPress ®

An ideal gift for those who want to delve into the world of specialty coffee... and for those who are already familiar with it.

Since its release, this genius piece of household product engineering has won the hearts of all coffee lovers for its results, versatility, ease of use, and consistency.

The AeroPress is an easy and consistent way to get into filter brewing. It's also very easy to play with and try different recipes. It's durable, easy to clean, and you can take it anywhere.

If all that weren't enough, there's an entire community of coffee makers dedicated to this method of preparing coffee, and there are regional, national, and international competitions. Will you (or the person you gift it to) be the next AeroPress champion?

Gift Pack Tip: Pair the AeroPress with a manual grinder, such as the Comandante or Hario Mini Mill, and a pack of whole bean coffee, and it's a killer gift for coffee lovers.

7. Behmor Brazen Plus 3.0 Coffee Maker

A coffee maker for those who want good coffee, without the complications of making good coffee.

This automatic filter coffee maker is a much improved version of traditional automatic filter or Americano coffee makers. What sets it apart is the control over all the parameters and the way the water is poured into the coffee. The result is excellent filter coffee.

It's a convenient and easy-to-use coffee maker, ideal for making coffee for the whole family or for the office. You have complete control over the extraction, you can choose the amount of coffee you want to make, and it's very easy to clean.

Of course, it's a coffee maker you can set up and leave sitting still. An ideal gift for those who regularly drink coffee at home or in the office, and for more than one person.

Gift Pack Tip: If you combine this Behmor automatic coffee maker with the Fellow Opus electric grinder, it's an unbeatable package.

8. Stagg EKG Electric Kettle

A gift for advanced coffee lovers.

There are many parameters to control when making good coffee, such as the method used, grind, quantity, time, water temperature, etc. This Fellow Kettle Stagg allows you to control two very important parameters: water temperature and pouring.

It's a kettle with temperature control and maintenance, and a shape especially suited for pouring water into filter brewing machines like the V60 or AeroPress.

Plus, it's made of stainless steel and has a beautiful design that won't go unnoticed. For many coffee lovers, a kettle like this is one of the last items they buy in their kit, but that doesn't mean it's less important.

9. Hario Scale

To maintain consistency in our preparations, it's essential to know the amount of coffee we use and the amount of water. Furthermore, knowing and correctly using these two parameters is essential for successful preparation.

This Hario coffee scale makes it much easier. It measures from one gram to two digits and also has a stopwatch to measure the contact time between the water and the coffee.

Controlling these parameters also allows us to follow recipes prepared by expert baristas or develop our own. A scale is a necessary element to elevate our coffee ritual to the highest levels.
