One of the best gifts you can give a coffee lover is, quite simply, a good pack of specialty coffee. Yeah, it seems obvious, but all coffee lovers love it when someone brings us a new coffee, something we haven't tried yet and have been wanting for a while. But not all coffees are the same.
If you're going to give coffee to someone who truly appreciates coffee, you can't just give them a commercial coffee, the kind you'll find on any supermarket shelf. It's like giving a wine lover a carton of wine. It should be specialty coffee (you can read all about what that means in this post).
At Ineffable Coffee, all our coffees are specialty, fresh, seasonal, and freshly roasted. It's what any coffee lover is looking for, so if you choose one of our coffees as a gift, you'll be sure to make a great choice.
Some things to consider when choosing a coffee are the roast profile and whether to buy whole beans or ground coffee. Regarding the former, it depends on the brewing method used by the person you're gifting it to. We recommend an 'espresso' profile if you're preparing it using an Italian coffee maker, espresso maker, or super-automatic coffee maker. And we recommend a 'filter' profile for brewing using filter methods like a French press, V60, or AeroPress.
As for whether to buy it ground or whole, we always recommend ground whole (we explain why in this post). If you know they have a mill at home, then whole is best. And if you don't know, then you can add a mill to your gift or give them ground whole.
